Hanoverian Awards – Devon 2008

Thanks to Paul Cohen we now have two sets of awards for Hanoverians competing at Dressage at Devon (DAD).  Two years ago Paul established the AUIZHI-MAHB Awards for the in-hand divisions.  He donated $1000 for the highest-placing Hanoverian bred by a MAHB member in the Young Horse division and another $1000 for the highest-placing MAHB-bred Hanoverian in the Mature Horse division, the money to be split between owner and breeder.  In 2007, Mo Swanson hit the jackpot as she was owner and breeder of the Young Horse winner, Rheporter (Royal Prince-EM Whispre/Weltmeyer), as well as the breeder of the Mature Horse winner, Ghlacier (Gold Luck-Piper/Pablo), owned by Lauren Dearlove.

At the AHS Annual Meeting ’08, Paul proposed a set of awards for the Young Dressage Horse classes at DAD.  Paul donated another $1000 toward this end, which was quickly matched by five more AHS members for a total of $6000 creating the All-American Hanoverian Young Dressage Horse awards (AAHYD).  The money (again to be split between owner and breeder) was designated as $2000 each to the highest-placing American-bred and owned Hanoverian in the USEF Dressage Test for Four-Year-Olds, the FEI Dressage Test for Five-Year-Olds and the FEI Dressage Test for Six-Year-Olds.

Winners of the these AAHYD awards for ’08 were:
